Fundraising walk
The first Ger McDonald Memorial Walk will take place in the Reeks, Kerry on Saturday, June 19th. This is a fundraising walk for Kerry Mountain Rescue. Registration is at Cronins Yard in the Reeks, from 8-9am on the day. Participants will then be ferried to the start at the Hydro Road in Glencar. Glen of ImaalThis An Óige walk next Saturday starts from Donard village and includes Keadeen Mt, Lugnaquilla, Table Mt and Lobawn. The distance is 35km and the walk is for experienced walkers with map and compass skills. Entry fee: €25. Registration: 7-8.15am on the day and there will be checkpoints along the route. Creepy-crawly walkiesTake a safari through the world of bugs with Wicklow Mountains National Park on Saturday, June 26th at 11am from the Information Office, Upper Lake, Glendalough. Bring a jar with a lid to help examine the bugs. Allow up to two hours for the walk which is suitable for children and adults but not buggies. Booking is essential. Tel: 0404-45425.
