Best holiday?I flew to Rio and had a wonderful four days at Ipanema and Copacabana beach. Then I took a Silversea cruise up the coast of South America into the Caribbean. It was my first cruise and it was brilliant.
Worst holiday?Seven days in Gran Canaria in the rain during the 1970s. There was no golf and no sun, so I spent the week in the bowling alley. It was either that or drink.
Dream holiday?I fancy a holiday based around Perth, Australia. With great vineyards, great beaches and great golf, there is so much to see on the west coast. I'd make sure to get up as far as Broome to Cable Beach where as the moon rises over the mudflats of the bay it creates a stairway to heaven optical illusion.
Favourite place in Ireland?Killarney because it's got everything. Good golf, restaurants, scenery and nice people.
Holiday reading?Anything by Lee Childs. I'm a huge fan of the Jack Reacher series.
Where to next?Looking forward to a spring visit to my place in Spain and playing golf in the sun.
