1. Nikon KeyMission 360 Nikon is making a high-end pitch into action cameras with its new KeyMission 360. Probably the only camera segment that's really booming, in large part thanks to the success of GoPro, Nikon's big point of difference is clear in the name. This shoots 360-degree footage, with dual lenses and software stitching it together. Waterproof to 30m, it captures 4K, and there's image stabilisation too. From about €499; nikon.com
2. Garlin Quatix3 Marine Smartwatch In essence, Garmin has taken its popular fitness watch, the Fenix 3, and tooled it up for water sports, particularly marine pursuits. It can stream readings from compatible boat sensors to your wrist, it stores tide data for up to seven days and is waterproof to 100m. The Quatix 3 supports GPS and GLONASS, as well as the usual compass and other geo modes and a full suite of sports settings. There's a watch in there too. $600; garmin.com
3. Popticals pop-out sunglasses Fold-up sunglasses don't often have the specifications of Popticals, with their lightweight frames and polarised anti-glare lenses offering UV400 total protection from UV rays. Shatterproof and scratch resistant, the frame's fold-away pop-out mechanism is well engineered too. A micro-rail system and a powerful built-in magnet guides the frame movement in and out. $199, popticals.com
