A couple of sensible but worthwhile buys.
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Marotti Campi 2006, 13.5%, €11.79. I love this style of Italian wine, a mix of ripe fruits with a refreshing bite. Aromas of wet straw, with soft pears and almonds, balanced nicely by a lemony streak. Grilled John Dory with a herb butter. Oddbins.
Gran Tempranillo Carineña 2007, 13%, €7.99. A joyful, bouncy wine that will bring a smile to anyone's lips, with its easy ripe strawberry fruit and tannin-free finish.
