Heroin valued at €1 million was seized at the M50 toll plaza in Dublin, it has emerged.
Officers of the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped a car at around 8.40pm and recovered 5 kilos of heroin following a search.
"Two men, who were in the car at the time, were arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station where they are presently in custody under section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act, a Garda spokesman said.
The men were aged 27 and 29. A third man aged 48 was arrested in follow-up operation in Co Kildare. He was detained at a house in Newbridge at 11pm last night.

The investigation was carried out with the assistance of Dutch Police who are being kept informed.
