Algiers - At least 10 more people have died in rioting in the ethnic Berber Kabylie homeland and other regions of north-eastern Algeria, six of them members of the security forces, press reports said yesterday. Dozens of people were reported injured.
The new incidents, all of which took place on Tuesday, were reported as President Abdelaziz Bouteflika promised to hold on to power despite the riots. The violence involving ethnic Berbers has sharply increased since last Thursday's march by almost a million people in Algiers. --(AFP)
