Gardai seized cannabis and ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of £100,000 in a raid on a flat in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo, last night.
Three men and a woman in their 20s, with addresses in Sligo, were arrested under drug trafficking legislation after detectives recovered an estimated 20 kilos of cannabis and 20,000 ecstasy tablets from the apartment in the centre of the town at around 10.30 p.m. The four can be held for up to seven days without charge. i. Officers from the Sligo drugs unit had been keeping the apartment under surveillance for some time, said Insp Gerry Connolly. The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation and a follow up operation is expected in the near future, he added.
