Thirteen people, including two children, were killed today when their bus skidded and crashed in northern Malaysia in one of the country's worst road accidents.
The victims - 11 of them women - were travelling to the northern island of Langkawi when their bus went out of control at Baling, Kedah, about 312 miles north of Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia's Bernama news agencyquoted a policeman as saying the bus toppled over as it neared a bend. "The roof of the bus was torn off," he said.
Last year 15 people (including 14 schoolchildren) were killed when a truck rammed into a school bus in a remote town in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on Borneo island.
