Twenty-three Kenyan mourners, including two children, were killed on their way home from a funeral last night when their bus plunged into a river.
Police blamed the driver for the accident, saying he had been drunk when he swerved off a bridge near Machakos, 50 kms outside the capital Nairobi.
Kenyan television said the driver of the green vehicle, emblazoned with the slogan Never say Never across the front, was recovering in hospital with a broken leg. More than thirty survivors were treated in hospital.
