Former taoiseach Albert Reynolds and former tánaiste Mary Harney are among the 250 guests who will attend the wedding in Fermoy, Co Cork, today of multi-millionaire dancer Michael Flatley (48) and his bride-to-be, Niamh O'Brien (32).
Both Mr Reynolds and his wife, Kathleen, who went to school in Coolfadda, Co Sligo, with Michael's father, Michael snr, and Ms Harney and her husband, Brian Geoghegan, are close friends of the Chicago-born dancer, who sprang to fame in Riverdance at Eurovision in 1994.
Among the invited guests at
St Patrick's church in Fermoy will be the Chieftains including Paddy Moloney and Matt Molloy, as well as promoters Jim and Peter Aiken and many other figures from the world of traditional music and showbusiness.
