3 charged in Menson murder

London - Three men were charged yesterday in connection with the death of the black musician Michael Menson

London - Three men were charged yesterday in connection with the death of the black musician Michael Menson. Charalambus Constantinou (26) was charged with murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice, and Husseyin Abdulla (50) was charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. The two men, both of Edmonton, north London, will appear at Enfield magistrates court today.

Mario Pereira, a 25-year-old student of Oakfield Gardens in Edmonton, appeared in court earlier charged with murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Mr Menson was 30 when he died in hospital in January 1997, two weeks after being found burning in a north London street. The son of a Ghanaian diplomat, Mr Menson was born in Moscow. His band, Double Trouble, was awarded a recording contract, but broke up in 1993.
