London - A pilot and two paramedics were killed tonight when their air ambulance ploughed into power lines and crashed just minutes after being called away from a fundraising event to attend an emergency.
The three-man crew from Kent Air Ambulance had been called to a road traffic accident. Their French-built Aerospatial helicopter crashed into 11,000volt powerlines and plunged into a field beside woodland at Burham, near Rochester. The three men, who were not named, died instantly.
