Two men and a woman who admitted viciously attacking a man on a halting site have been sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Hugh Patrick McGinley (52), Dublin Road, Longford, received a three-year suspended sentence; Willie McGinley (28), Willow Park, Longford, received a two-year suspended sentence; and Joan McGinley (35), Clondalkin was given the benefit of the Probation Act.
The three had pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to committing violent disorder at St Oliver's Park, Clondalkin, in May 1997 during an attack on the Power Traveller family.
Judge Frank O'Donnell ordered Hugh Patrick McGinley to pay a fine of £1,000 and enter a bond to be of good behaviour for three years. He ordered Willie McGinley to be of good behaviour for two years.
