March 23rd: Slaughter of almost 12,500 animals in Co Louth is completed to try to contain the disease. EU limits export ban to Co Louth.

April 16th: A ban on export of livestock and meat-based products from Northern Ireland to the EU reintroduced following two new cases of foot-and-mouth.

April 19th: Co Louth trade restrictions lifted with exception of those within the exclusion zone.
