An additional £300,000 (€380,921) was been sanctioned for the Medical Bureau of Road Safety, in the context of yesterday's Budget, the Minister for Housing and Urban Renewal, Mr Bobby Molloy, announced yesterday.
The bureau is responsible for analysing specimens and supplying and testing equipment used by the Garda in enforcing drink-driving laws. According to Mr Molloy, the total grant to the bureau is to be more than £1.2 million (€1.5 million) in 2000.
