Gardaí in Co Donegal are looking for a 30ft pole with a street light on top which was stolen from the centre of Convoy village last week.
Locals noticed that, over the last 10 days, there appeared to be a “dark spot” on the village’s Main Street.
It was not until a closer daylight inspection took place that it was discovered that the decorative, galvanised steel structure, worth €1,500, had been cut off at the stump and removed.
Donegal County Council confirmed that the theft of the pole and light unit had been reported to the Garda.
