Rabat - Thirty-five people died and 11 were seriously injured when a train crashed into a tractor and trailer in northern Morocco yesterday.
The official news agency, MAP, said the train, which was travelling between Tangiers and Casablance, ran into the tractor on an unmanned crossing, 6 km from the town of Ksar El Kebir.
The victims were all farm workers who were travelling on a trailer being pulled by the tractor.
None of the passengers on the train were hurt and the train did not come off the rails, according to a Moroccan railways spokesman, Mr Mohammed Salmouni.
