Around £40,000 was stolen in two robberies in Dublin city centre yesterday. At 7.30 a.m. two men on a motorcycle, one armed with a handgun or a sawn-off shotgun, and both wearing helmets which covered their faces, stole up to £10,000 from the Temple Bar car park on Fleet Street.
An hour later, a man described as over 6 ft and in his mid-40s and carrying a handgun threatened staff as they opened the Next clothes shop in the Jervis Centre. After posing as a delivery man, he produced the gun and forced them to hand over more than £30,000 in Sunday takings.
