The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr O'Donoghue, yesterday announced grants worth more than £4 million for childcare organisations. He said the grants, under the Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme, would go to 62 applicants. Among the groups to benefit will be community-based organisations and childcare services, private childcare providers and training projects.
The latest grants, said Mr O'Donoghue, would create more than 729 new childcare places.
