A man was arrested today after a car burst through a police checkpoint in north Belfast and crashed into two other vehicles injuring five people.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at around 1.30pm on O'Neill Road in Newtownabbey but it drove on and collided with another car. The driver made off towards the Shore Road before crashing for a second time on Shore Crescent, injuring five people. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Police said one man was arrested at the scene.
