London - A year on and the British Prime Minister, Mr Blair, sat on a brightly-coloured Breakfast TV sofa yesterday and declared that New Labour had made a "good start, but there's a lot more to do", Rachel Donnelly reports.
A Daily Telegraph/Gallup poll yesterday put Mr Blair's personal standing in the first year in office higher than any other British prime minister since the second World War. The poll showed 72 per cent of voters were satisfied with Mr Blair's performance in his first year in office, compared to Baroness Thatcher's first-year rating of 41 per cent.
