Almost 8.5 million passengers travelled through Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports in the past six months, Aer Rianta said yesterday.

Some 6.5 million people passed through Dublin Airport in the past six months - up 3 per cent on last year. Traffic to Europe rose by 14 per cent from the same time last year.

Aer Rianta said Cork Airport handled almost 800,000 people in the first six months of the year - up 4 per cent on last year. Some 1.1 million passengers travelled through Shannon Airport - up 4 per cent on last year.
