Some 95 per cent of nurses have been bullied at work, according to a survey. Most bullying was verbal and psychological, with only 4 per cent of respondents reporting physical bullying. In almost 75 per cent of cases, the bully was a senior member of staff. The Irish Nurses Organisation survey aimed to evaluate the extent of the problem, according to Ms Lenore Mrkwicka, the INO's assistant general secretary. The results were announced yesterday to coincide with the publication of a policy booklet on bullying.
