Junior Cert History - post-mortem: Guesses on the identity of the mystery man in the pictures section of the Junior Cert higher-level history paper ranged from Arthur Griffith to Pat Rabbitte. Actually it was John Hume, albeit in his younger days of the Sunningdale agreement.
"This wasn't the easiest figure to identify, but it was a small part of the question so it wouldn't have held most people up," said Mr Peter Gallagher of the history teachers' association.
Overall, he said, the questions were very fair.
ASTI history representative Mr John O'Sullivan found the paper "by and large" manageable and was particularly happy with question 6, which gave students a good range of choice.
Most students would have no complaints, he said.
