The president of the Irish Association of Care Workers, Mr Noel Howard, has called for an effective strategy to deal with abuse allegations of abuse against child-care staff. Speaking in Waterford last night At the association's 11th annual IACW conference in Waterford yesterday, Mr Noel Howard said the conviction of a trained residential child-care worker was appalling.
He hoped the association's working group would advance proposals which would enable so health boards "to grasp the nettle and could develop a "clear strategy for dealing with this intricate area of grave concern for care workers."
