The kitchiest club in town was three years old on Monday, so what better way to celebrate than with a deliberately tacky cocktail party? Strictly Handbag owner Martin Thomas treated his friends to handbag-shaped buns, lurid alcoholic concoctions and music by Graham Very, who arrived for the party at the Dalkey Island Hotel from the fiercely trendy club, Happiness Stan in London.
Eoin Foyle and Jay Burke, the owners of Ri Ra, the usual venue for the Strictly Handbag gang, were there together with Jay's wife, Sarah Harte. Julian Fallon and Stacey Baigi came along; Julian (she's a girl) and Stacey have recently started a new model agency entitled First Options and are already doing well with young model Sorcha Tunney, the 18-year-old much sought after in Europe.
The Josephs, a young mod band recently signed to Deconstruction, the big British record label, chatted with Dandelion, who is the DJ at Martin's other club, Strictly-A-GoGo. Also there was actor Bronagh Gallagher, just back from England where she had scored a part in the new movie of Star Wars.
