An eight-year-old girl who was knocked down and injured in a traffic accident was awarded £30,000 in the High Court in Cork yesterday.
Esther Vaughan was crossing the road near her home at Dublin Pike, White's Cross, Co Cork, on March 25th, 1994, when she was hit by a car driven by Ms Mary Murphy, of Ballinvarrig, Whitechurch, Co Cork. She suffered a broken leg and other serious injuries, the court was told.
The settlement, plus costs, against Ms Catherine Murphy, representative of the late Ms Murphy, was approved by Mr Justice Quirke.
