A consultant paediatrician who claimed she was subjected to "bullying and harassment" at Temple Street children's hospital has settled her action against the hospital.
Dr Sufin Yap (45), who worked in a full-time position at the hospital from March 2002, but who claimed she had not been paid a salary since May 2005, had alleged intimidation, defamation, breach of contract and conspiracy.
She claimed she encountered interpersonal tensions between other consultants at the hospital. Despite an investigation into the matter, she said the problems persisted and her workload grew. Because of the alleged "volatile atmosphere" over a three-year period, she had to take several periods of stress-related leave.
The hospital denied the claims, and said Dr Yap had exceeded 365 days sick leave from 2002. She had exhausted her entitlements to be paid sick leave.
Mr Justice John MacMenamin was told this week the case had been settled and could be struck out. No details were given.
