Washington Postclaims Mr Adams is running out of US friends

It said Mr Adams is running out of friends in the US capital.
"If the IRA cared about the peace process, you might expect its political wing, Sinn Féin, to be working overtime on finding a way forward," the newspaper said in an editorial headlined 'Fidel's Irish Friends'.
"But Gerry Adams, Sinn Fein's top man, is planning a trip to Latin America. He will visit Fidel Castro, a long-standing ally, and stop by in other undisclosed countries.
"Mr Adams used to have friends in Washington, but their band is dwindling now". The newspaper said it is "increasingly clear who's to blame" for the fraying peace process.
"The Irish Republican Army has precipitated the breakdown of Protestant-Catholic powersharing in the territory by refusing to deliver its part of the peace bargain, which is to get rid of weapons".
It said the British government "took the better option" by briefly suspending the Northern Ireland Assembly rather than calling elections.
The editorial ended: "As the biggest armed group, and as the one with a political wing that aspires to democratic respectability, it is incumbent upon the IRA to deliver on the disarmament promises contained in the Good Friday agreement".
