Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has topped the poll in Louth, taking over 15,000 first preferences and securing election on the first count.
Fine Gael's Fergus O'Dowd was also elected on the first count, taking 13,980 votes. The quota was 13,864.
Labour's Gerald Nash lies in third on 8,718 votes followed by Fine Gael's Peter Fitzpatrick on 7,845.
Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour are all running two candidates each but Mr Adams is the sole Sinn Féin contender.
