A judge yesterday lifted the suspension of a 10-month prison sentence on a Co Limerick man who was harassing Lady Geraldine Dunraven at her home in Adare, Co Limerick.
The judge at Limerick Circuit Court ordered that Mr James Hardin (66), of Adare, should serve the sentence. The direction came from Judge Sean O'Leary who was told that Hardin continued to telephone and write to Lady Dunraven, despite an undertaking not to do so.
A 10-month prison sentence had been imposed by Judge Mary O'Halloran at Adare District Court in March - and this was subsequently suspended at Rathkeale Circuit Court when Mr Hardin gave an undertaking not to harass any member of the Dunraven family.
Yesterday the judge lifted the suspension when he heard from Sgt Stephen Carroll, Adare, that Hardin had been telephoning and writing to Lady Dunraven.
The judge asked that the case should be brought back again for mention at the ordinary sitting of the court next month.
Mr Hardin was charged with harassing Lady Dunraven by persistently communicating with her between September 3rd, 1997, and October 14th, 1997.
