A heroin addict asphyxiated due to a combination of alcohol, methadone and valium just after he joined a community based methadone programme, Dublin City Coroner's Court heard yesterday. The coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, recorded a verdict of death by misadventure in the case of Dublin man James Geraghty (27). The inquest heard that Geraghty, of Captain's Road, Crumlin, had taken drugs for IS years and had tried a number of times to overcome his addiction through rehabilitation courses. He was found dead at his home on December 5th last year.
