Aer Arann has announced the creation of up to 20 new jobs in Co Galway.
The positions in Galway, including 11 cabin crew, six first officers and three engineers, will be in place by the end of April.
The airline will also relocate 18 additional staff to Galway - nine co-pilots and nine cabin crew.
The staff will service 95 flights per week in and out of Galway Airport on four routes including Dublin, London, Luton, Edinburgh and Manchester with a fifth route to Birmingham beginning on May 3rd.
Commercial Manage, Ms Jennifer Mooney, said: "Aer Arann has enjoyed significant growth in Galway over the past year carrying in excess of 135,000 passengers in 2003.
"We look forward to growing our Galway passenger levels in excess of 260,000 this year and basing one third of our fleet and some key members of our staff in Galway we are ideally positioned to achieve this."
Meanwhile, tickets have gone on sale for a new UK service to be started next month by low-cost carrier bmibaby.
Run by the former British Midland Airlines, bmibaby will start daily flights between Nottingham East Midlands Airport and Knock, Co Mayo on April 30th .
