Aer Lingus has signed a contract with Dublin Aerospace to provide maintenance services for 12 of its aircraft at the Dublin base from this November.
The airline said that following a review of its current maintenance services, it entered into a competitive tender process for the provision of a portion of its base maintenance requirements with a number of service providers in Ireland and Europe.
The contract involves servicing of 12 Airbus A320 aircraft for the winter season 2010/2011.
Aer Lingus said the remainder of its base maintenance services will continue to be carried out by Sabena Technics (SNT) in Bordeaux under an existing contract.
Chief operating officer Trevor Jensen said the airline had used Dublin Aerospace services since its inception and had been impressed with its "capability and high reliability".
"We are delighted to award the base maintenance contract to Dublin Aerospace and in doing so support employment at Dublin Airport.”
Dublin Aerospace executive chairman Conor McCarthy said the announcement was a "fantastic win" and that the contract with the "admired and respected" airline brand should help the company attract more business in the years ahead.
