The threat of industrial action and continued weakness in its long-haul market to the United States contributed to a 3.6 per cent year-on-year fall in passenger traffic for Aer Lingus last month.
Aer Lingus said it carried 741,000 passengers in November.
Passenger numbers on short-haul flights were 1.2 per cent lower while those travelling to long-haul destinations were 17.2 per cent down over the period.
The load factor, or proportion of seats filled, on short-haul flights was 71.8 per cent which the airline says is "on par with 2007". Capacity on these routes increased 2.4 per cent over the period, Aer Lingus said.
The load factor on long-haul flights dropped to 72.9 per cent, down from 81 per cent compared with November 2007, despite a 10.8 per cent reduction in capacity.
