Aer Lingus has said it has resolved a dispute with former chief executive Michael Foley, who was sacked seven years ago.
Mr Foley was dismissed in June 2001 after an internal committee at the airline upheld two complaints of sexual harassment against him.
Mr Foley, who denied the allegations, sued the airline for unfair dismissal.
Aer Lingus said it was "pleased" agreement had been reached.
"Aer Lingus is very pleased that their longstanding dispute with Mr Michael Foley has been resolved,'' the company said today in a statement, without providing details. "Aer Lingus would like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Foley every success for the future."
A brief statement on behalf of Mr Foley said the resolution was very satisfactory.
"Mr Michael Foley and his family are delighted that the long-standing dispute with Aer Lingus has been resolved," it said.
"A very satisfactory solution has been reached in this matter which allows himself and his family to move forward from what has been a very difficult chapter in their lives."
It is understood the settlement involves a cash payment but a spokesman for Mr Foley said the arrangement was a private matter.
