Election round-up: Taoiseach Bertie Ahern attended a party briefing this morning that focuses on the contentious issue of health.
As nurses escalated their industrial action and hospital consultants are expected to vote for a campaign of action, Mr Ahern was joined by Brian Lenihan, Mary Hanafin, and Seamus Brennan.
Mr Ahern used the briefing to outline his proposals to break the deadlock in the nurses' dispute with health service employers.
This afternoon Mr Ahern visits the Battle of the Boyne site near Drogheda to meet Northern Ireland First Minister the Rev Ian Paisley.
