Newly crowned British Open champion Pádraig Harrington is to be honoured at a reception in Government Buildings today.
The event is being hosted by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism Seamus Brennan.
Harrington became Ireland's first winner of the Open since Fred Daly in 1947 with his dramatic play-off victory against Spain's Sergio Garcia in Carnoustie, last weekend.
Harrington's win meant that his name is engraved on golf's most famous trophy, alongside the names of past legends like Ben Hogan and Sam Snead, and more recent champions like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
