Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines could obtain European Commission approval for their planned merger as early as next week, French daily Les Echossaid, citing sources.
The report said an agreement is expected today that may see the companies make even further concessions to the EU to obtain permission for their merger.
The first phase of the EU's examination of the merger is expected to end on Wednesday, and if the deal does not get approved, another inquiry will be started that could go on for up to four months, the report said.
