An airline passenger pleaded guilty today to perpetrating a bomb hoax as he checked in for a flight to Ireland.

James Tully was arrested yesterday at Birmingham International Airport after falsely claiming to have explosives in his luggage, magistrates in Solihull were told.

Tully (41), of Bryndale Avenue, Kings Heath, Birmingham, was granted bail and was committed to Warwick Crown Court for sentence on August 3rd.

He was charged last night with communicating false information contrary to the Criminal Law Act.
