The European branch of online retailer Amazon says it has received an e-commerce record of more than 350,000 pre-orders for the latest Harry Potter book.
Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenixhas already commanded five times as many pre-orders as were taken for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which broke records with 65,000 pre-orders.
The company says it will deliver all of the books on the publication date - Saturday, June 21st - making it the largest distribution of any single item in e-commerce history.
Amazon.co.uk is packing and shipping the books under tight security in a secure, dedicated warehouse at its distribution centre in Milton Keynes, Britain .
Nine trailers full of specially commissioned cardboard boxes will be used to pack the books and 36 miles of shipping labels used to send the books to customers.
