Johannesburg - South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) yesterday criticised former anti-apartheid heroine Ms Winnie Mandela for provoking an angry brush-off from President Thabo Mbeki.
Mr Mbeki's ANC, in an unprecedented public criticism, charged the ex-wife of former President Nelson Mandela with "tomfoolery" and "unbecoming conduct" by disrupting proceedings at a national rally which resulted in a furious Mr Mbeki publicly spurning her. In a snub that set tongues wagging, Mr Mbeki on Saturday pushed the habitually late Ms Mandela aside and angrily brushed off her kiss when she interrupted a Youth Day rally.
