A new code of practice against racism in the workplace, to be published jointly by ICTU and IBEC, has been welcomed by the National Co-ordinating Committee for European Year Against Racism.
A statement from the committee, which is based in the Department of Equality and Law Reform, said recent adverse comment and media reports about refugees in Ireland had resulted in an "atmosphere of hostility toward black and ethnic-minority workers".
The code of practice will be presented tomorrow morning in Dublin Castle.
