An anti-war demonstration was today staged outside the Four Courts in Dublin as the trial of the so-called 'Pit Stop Ploughshares' protesters was postponed.
Five anti-war activists accused of causing up to €2.5 million worth of damage to a US naval plane at Shannon Airport were due to begin their trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The case was put back to next Monday, July 10th, because no trial courts were available.
Around 20 demonstrators gathered at the corner of the main Four Courts building holding aloft banners calling for the US Military to be banned from Shannon Airport.
Karen Fallon, Deirdre Clancy, Nuin Dunlop, Damien Moran and Ciaron O'Reilly are charged with causing criminal damage to the US Navy plane and to two glass door panels at Shannon Airport on February 3rd, 2003.
