Members of the Australian and New Zealand communities in Ireland will todayhold a dawn memorial service in Dublin to mark Anzac Day.

A wreath will be laid at the Australian Army plot at Grangegorman MilitaryCemetery to mark the 8,000 Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (Anzac) troopswho died at the 1915 Battle of Gallipoli in Turkey.Anzac Day is marked every year on April 25 to commemorate the lives lost in theFirst World War offensive.

Today's sunrise service near the Phoenix Park will also be attended by theAustralian Ambassador as well as representatives from the Irish Government andthe Embassy of Turkey.An annual Anzac service will be held this evening in St Anne's Church onDublin's Dawson Street.
