Apology to Mr Max Mosley

In an article by Johnny Watterson, in the September 11th edition of The Irish Times , reference was made to Mr Max Mosley.

In an article by Johnny Watterson, in the September 11th edition of The Irish Times, reference was made to Mr Max Mosley.

The article, entirely wrongly, made reference to “Nazi paraphernalia” and “Heil to that Max” in connection with Mr Mosley.

The article alluded to an event which, it had been falsely alleged by the News of the World, could be characterised as having a "Nazi" theme. In fact there was no "Nazi paraphernalia" at this event or a single item that could properly be described as being "Nazi".

This was the conclusion in Mr Mosley's successful case against the News of the Worldin the High Court in London in 2008; Mr Justice Eady found that there was no Nazi element to the event whatsoever.

We apologise to Mr Mosley for our article of September 11th, 2010 and accept that we should never have made this allegation.
