Gardaí have issued an appeal for public assistance after a man found with head injuries in west Dublin on Thursday afternoon has yet to regain consciousness.
He was found with on Old Corduff Lane, off Main Street, Blanchardstown. The pedestrian laneway runs under the N3 linking the village to Corduff.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "At this stage it is not known what caused the man's injuries and gardaí would like to speak to anyone who used the lane or were in the general vicinity between 3pm and 4.15pm yesterday."
He said detectives are particularly keen to speak to an Irishman with red hair and a beard aged around 35. They are also keen to make contact with a woman in her mmid 20s with short, blonde hair. She is believed to be Eastern European
These pair were at the scene as the emergency services arrived, the spokeswoman added.
