The families of three men killed in a gun and bomb attack on a bar in Silverbridge, Co Armagh, in 1975 have appealed to the RUC officer who headed the initial investigation to contact them directly or through a third party, writes Clare Murphy, in Belfast.
The relatives of Michael Donnelly (14), Patrick Donnelly (24), and Trevor Brecknell (32), who were killed in the loyalist attack on Donnelly's bar, said yesterday they believed higher authorities had thwarted the "genuine" attempts of the officer who headed the initial inquiry. Allegations of security force collusion have surrounded the incident.
