Music fans have now downloaded more than 10 billion songs from the iTunes store, according to new figures from Apple.
The 10 billionth download occurred yesterday and marks a tremendous achievement for a store which only went online in 2001 but which has come to dominate the music industry.
Apple gave away a $10,000 iTunes gift voucher to the unnamed music fan who was responsible for the milestone download.
The company has also released a list of the 25 most popular songs to have been downloaded from the store.
Black Eyed Peas, led by will.i.am and Fergie, are the most popular group. The US band, who are set to appear at Oxegen 2010 in July, appear on the list twice.
The band's I Gotta Feeling is officially the most downloaded song from iTunes while another of their hits, Boom Boom Pow, is the third biggest seller.
Lady Gaga, who wowed music fans at the O2 Dublin on Saturday, is responsible for the second biggest seller on iTunes with Poker Face while hits from Coldplay, Rihanna, Kings of Leon, Beyonce and Kanye West also make the iTunes top 25 list.
Journey's Don't Stop Believin', which was played in the final episode of the hit show The Sopranos and was also recently covered by the cast of Glee, is the only song in the top 25 which wasn't released in the past five years.
