Mr Carlo Gebler has been appointed to the Arts Council by the Minister for the Arts, Ms de Valera.
The son of the writers Edna O'Brien and Ernest Gebler, Mr Gebler is a novelist, critic and writer of children's fiction. He replaces Mr Ciaran Carson, who resigned due to ill health, according to the Arts Council.
